Hays County authorities are investigating an incident where a guest at a Dripping Springs hotel was hit by a bullet fired from an adjacent room Saturday.
An investigation led authorities to arrest William Frame, 54, of New Braunfels, whom they suspect fired the shot.
Frame was booked into the Hays County Jail on a count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is a second degree felony, and unlawful carry of a weapon, which is a Class A misdemeanor.
According to a press release, Hays County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Outpost Hotel, located in the 26000 block of Ranch Road 12, around 8:58 p.m. Saturday after an employee heard a gunshot from one of the rooms.
When deputies arrived, they found a 35-year-old man who was the victim of a gunshot wound. The victim sustained a non-penetrating wound to his leg from a bullet fired from an adjacent room, which had penetrated the victim’s hotel room wall. The victim, who was not identified, was treated at an area hospital and released.
A HCSO investigation revealed the identity of the person who rented the room where the weapon was allegedly fired.
Deputies searched the area and later discovered Frame walking down Ranch Road 12. Frame was detained and search revealed he was in possession of a handgun.
Frame is being held at the Hays County Jail on $53,500 bond.
