The Dripping Springs High Tiger band punched its ticket to the UIL state marching contest in San Antonio by virtue of placing first at the Area D Marching Competition Oct. 28.
The Tigers’ finish advances them to state, which will be held Nov. 8 at the Alamodome. Dripping Springs is scheduled to perform in the state prelims at 2:15 p.m.
At the area contest, Dripping Springs was ranked first in both the prelims and finals. The finals score for music and marching combined was 6, with the lowest score winning the competition.
