Best of 2015: Buda, Kyle approve new liquor sale legislation

The landscape of selling, serving and consuming alcohol in Buda took a dramatic turn in 2015 as a new liquor law allowing for the later sale of libations was approved by voters in November. Voters passed the legislation, Proposition 1, by 58 percent of vote on Nov. 3. The vote allows for business owners with a mixed beverage late hours permit to sell alcohol until 2 a.m. on any given day.  Previously, business owners were only allowed to sell alcohol until 1 a.m. on Sundays and midnight any other night.
