Staff Report AUSTIN – Through the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) “Be Safe. Drive Smart” back-toschool campaign, drivers are asked to stay alert and help keep kids safe as the new school year begins.

DRIPPING SPRINGS — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is conducting an environmental study to evaluate long-term safety and mobility solutions along US 290 from RM 1826 in southwest Austin to Rob Shelton Boulevard in Dripping Springs.

DRIPPING SPRINGS — To help communicate with residents and business owners about transportation issues, the city of Dripping Springs launched an enhanced section on its website to answer questions, guide residents to the best places for information and direct residents to the best places to provide comments.

— Drivers will need to slow down slightly on a portion of Ranch Road 12 in Dripping Springs.

Hays County and TxDOT invited the community to participate in a ribbon-cutting celebration for the RM 967/Robert S. Light Boulevard project at 10:30 a.m. on July 13. After the ribbon was cut by Hays County Commissioner Walt Smith, he, Rep. Erin Zwiener, TxDOT Austin District Engineer Tucker Ferguson, Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra and Buda council member Evan Ture spoke to the small crowd shying away from the sun as traffic whizzed by.
