The Hays CISD Board of Trustees heard an update regarding ongoing projects within the district at its July 22 meeting.

KYLE — The Hays CISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the district’s compensation plan and budget for the 2024-25 school year at its June 24 meeting.

BUDA — At its May 13 meeting, the Hays CISD Board of Trustees officially welcomed Geoff Seibel and incumbent Courtney Runkle after canvassing the votes from the May 4 election, as well as voted for new board roles.

BUDA — At its Dec. 11 meeting, the Hays CISD Board of Trustees approved an item that denied the ability for the district to hire chaplains as school counselors.

BUDA — With a 7-0 vote, the Hays CISD Board of Trustees approved multiple projects at its Oct. 23 meeting.

BUDA — Parents across Hays CISD are divided over the district’s new attendance policy, which states that a student could be unenrolled if they are absent without contact for five days. The policy was adopted by the board of trustees on Aug. 28.

BUDA — At its regular meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 28, the Hays CISD Board of Trustees approved an application for an exception to House Bill 3 (H.B. 3) based on staffing criteria.

— In order to have up-to-date materials for students, Hays CISD is purchasing new textbooks for some Advanced Placement classes.

— More funds and resources will be provided to Hays CISD to address a variety of mental health concerns.

— The bond process is a strenuous one, especially for a district that is growing as fast as Hays CISD, but the board of trustees has officially settled on a package that voters will see on the May ballot.
