Staff Report

DRIPPING SPRINGS – The mayor of Dripping Springs and two city council members secured their seats prior to holding an election.

During the consent agenda, the Dripping Springs City Council unanimously voted March 3 to cancel its scheduled May election since all three candidates are running uncontested. Mayor Bill Foulds and council member Wade King (Place 2) will keep their positions while former city council member Travis Crow will take Place 4, the seat that council member April Harris Allison currently holds.

According to the Texas Election Code, a governing body has the authority to declare each unopposed candidate elected to office and cancel the election.
