Hays County officials are alerting residents near the Goforth and High Road Dam in Kyle of possible flooding that could occur in the area.
According to a post from haysinformed.com, heavy rains in the area have caused rising lake levels in the eastern part of Hays County near Goforth Road and High Road.
Emergency officials are preparing for possible flooding that may impact homes and property in communities near the Goforth/High Road Dam.
According to the county, the Plum Creek Conservation District is releasing water in that area, which will affect several Hays County roads.
Those include Cotton Gin, Bunton Lane, Dacy Lane, south Plum Creek and Gristmill. Hays County Communications Manager Laureen Chernow said in an email a flyer is being distributed to residents who live in affected areas near Goforth and High Roads.
The county said in their post residents may see more emergency personnel in the area. It could include Hays County Sheriff's Deputies, county road crews and emergency response personnel, including firefighters.
No action is needed by residents in the area as of 5 p.m. Wednesday evening, according to Hays County's post. They ask residents to stay alert and prepared.

Remember, Hays County is known as flash flood alley, and it is always important to be aware of changing weather situations that may affect you.
