An escaped inmate trustee who has been on run and the woman aiding him were both apprehended in the early morning hours Friday in Houston.
According to a Hays County press release, Omar Maya-Rangel, 29, and Marinda Seawright, 32, were arrested in Houston at approximately 4 a.m.
The two were arrested after an officer conducted a traffic stop on their vehicle and recognized the subjects. The officer was able to confirm their identities.
Maya-Rangel faces a charge of Escape, while Seawright faces a charge of Permitting or Facilitating Escape.
An additional charge of Fail to Identify was also added after the two gave false information to the officer.
Maya-Rangel, an inmate trustee, escaped from the Hays County Jail Wednesday after he was performing landscape work in front of the facility.
On Thursday, Hays County said Maya-Rangel was aided by Seawright, who facilitated his escape by providing him a ride in her vehicle.
According to Hays County, Maya-Rangel and Seawright were involved in a relationship for some time.
Maya-Rangel and Seawright are awaiting transport back to Hays County.
