The Buda Police Department is investigating what it believes to be arson of one of its newest police cruisers.
According to Buda Police Chief Bo Kidd, the incident took place in the department parking lot in the early morning hours of Aug. 10. The fire completely destroyed one of the department’s 2014 Dodge Chargers.
According to Kidd, Buda Police is placing all available resources toward the investigation. In addition, Kidd said the department has obtained video footage of the suspect.
What remains unknown is how the fire was created and the motive behind the incident.
The Buda Police Department is currently working in a collaborative investigation with local, state and federal authorities.
