Nurse RNs vs. LVN up for discussion
Hays CISD will consider Monday whether or not to replace outgoing (retiring, resigning) school nurses, who are required to hold an RN degree, with Licensed Practical Nurses (LVNs). The issue will be discussed at the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees. Meeting takes place beginning at 5:30 p.m. April 28 at Lehman High School in the cafeteria.
Lehman summer theatre camp
Students in second through sixth grade can participate this summer in a week-long theatre camp at Lehman High School. Activities include pantomime, face-painting, stage makeup, costuming, set and prop design and creation, t-shirts, acting workshops, team-building exercises, theatre games and the production of a play. Students should bring a sack lunch each day; snacks and drinks will be provided. No transportation will be provided. Camp runs promptly from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. M-F, July 7-July 11 with a special matinee performance on July 13. Contact teacher Marissa Meek at

Fitness camp
Sign up your students in grades 1-5 for a two-week half-day fitness camp focusing on conditioning and education not skill and ability. June 16-26 at Barton Middle School or July 7-17 at Dahlstrom Middle School. Camps run from 8-noon Mon-Thurs. Cost includes a t-shirt and daily snacks. Visit www.hayscisd.net/revtrak to learn more.
