Calling all Buda High graduates of Class of ’62
It’s time to mark your calendars for your 50th class reunion coming up in just four short weeks. Get in touch with old classmates, grab your annuals and scrapbooks and head to El Gallo Restaurant, 2910 S. Congress Ave. in Austin from 4 until 6 p.m. on Friday, April 13. Hosted by the class of 1962, an invitation is also extended to anyone in the class of 1961 and 1963. Cost is $20 per person. Board of Realtors scholarships
The Austin Board of Realtors Foundation is hosting its annual scholarship program for graduating seniors and home-schooled students to offset the cost of higher education. To be eligible, students must be citizens of the United States planning to pursue higher education at a Texas college, university, technical or trade school; and a resident of Travis, Williamson, Lee, Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Blanco or Burnet counties.

Local Aggie performs with Singing Cadets
The Texas A&M University Singing Cadets, an all-male chorus that includes a Kyle resident, will perform later this month in San Marcos.
This group was originally known as the Texas A&M Glee Club and was renamed the Singing Cadets in 1940. Singing Cadets concerts include traditional school songs, as well as religious, patriotic, Broadway, popular and novelty numbers.
In the last 10 years, the Singing Cadets have traveled over 35,000 miles, performed over 450 concerts, and visited more than 125 Texas cities and communities. The Singing Cadets have performed for every living president as well as other distinguished individuals such as Mikhail Gorbachev as well as performing throughout the United States and countries around the world.
One current member of the Singing Cadets, Jarrod Hehr, is from Kyle. Hehr is a biomedical science major and a member of the class of 2014. Hehr is currently in his second year with the Singing Cadets.
At 2 p.m. March 25, the Texas A&M Singing Cadets will bring their production to the Calvary Baptist Church in San Marcos. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and can be purchased at the door. More information can be obtained by accessing www.singingcadets.com. The concert is being sponsored by the Hays County Aggie Moms Club.
Teen Tech Week next week
The Buda Public Library is hosting a Teen Tech Week, March 20-22 with classes ranging from Digital Photo Editing to Internet Securtiy to Hackasaurus: Web Page Making Made Easy. Wallace raises funds for bilingual signage
Wallace Middle School PTA is raising funds for the purchase of an LED sign for the front of the school, replacing the hard to reach and maintain 10-foot tall sign currently in place. With a 64 percent Hispanic student population, the electronic sign will allow notices and events to be printed in English as well as Spanish.
