Free vendor booths for eco-friendly products at Earth Savers Summit
Fuentes Elementary is hosting its first-ever Earth Savers Summit from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 25 at the HCISD Performing Arts Center. Organizers are offering free booth space to businesses that want to advertise their eco-friendly products and services and to vendors to sell their eco-friendly wares. Contact Kara Hall at [email protected] or (512) 268-7827 for more information about having a booth at the event.


 


Regular Hays CISD board meeting this Monday
The Hays CISD Board of Trustees regular meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 at Hays High School. The agenda will be posted on the district’s website.


 


Marathon Kids forms are due, kick-off event is coming up
For Hays CISD students participating in Marathon Kids, registration forms should be turned in to your child’s teacher. The kick-off celebration is at 11 a.m., Sept. 29 at Mike Myers Track Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. More details are on the Marathon Kids website.


 


Hays CISD personal electronic devices policy reminder
Hays CISD officials remind parents that while students are permitted to possess telecommunications devices, including cell phones, these devices must remain turned off and out of sight between 8:45 a.m. and 4 p.m. The use of electronic devices is only allowed at the discretion of the educator in charge of the learning experience. Unapproved use of cell phones and other devices will result in confiscation and parents will have to pick up the device from the front office.


 


School picture days are coming up soon
Hays CISD campuses will be offering student fall photo days. Check your campus website for dates and details. Be sure to make an appointment for a haircut in advance.


 


Take the Challenge
Hays CISD officials want community members to join the district in the Healthy at H-E-B Community Challenge. The challenge runs through Oct. 31 and allows communities across Texas to face off against each other to see who has what it takes to create the most healthy action. Those who sign up track their healthy actions. H-E-B also wants to get area mayors involved in the challenge.
