On June 21, the TAME Trailblazer, the only hands-on science and engineering museum on wheels in Texas, came to the Buda Library.
Over 150 children of all ages went through five stations learning about careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Activities relating to medicine, aerodynamics, energy, and weather included a Van de Graaff generator, solar cell-powered fan, voice changer, hologram, kaleidoscope, stethoscopes, x-rays and CT scans of body parts, microscopes, a robotic arm, tornado tubes and much more.
The exhibits, geared toward third to seventh graders, took about 25 minutes to complete. Trained volunteers, including Buda librarians, worked with the Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) leader to make the exhibit an exciting experience for local kids.
The Buda Library was fortunate to be one of only 40 locations in Texas chosen for this amazing exhibit.
