Where’s Ralph?
Ever wonder what happened to Ralph the Swimming Pig? He was a staple of the Aquarena Springs Amusement Park in San Marcos, which was one of the state’s most popular tourism destinations in earlier days. An Aug. 11 presentation of Bob Phillips’ documentary about Aquarena Springs and Ralph the Swimming Pig is set at 2 p.m. at the Texas Music Theater on the square in San Marcos.
Gotta get my Java

Paint the Ponies
90 minute art classes will be held every Saturday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. just east of Kyle off FM 150. Professional Artist and Retired Art Teacher Diane Bray will give lessons on how to paint a still life of a real polo horse. $49 includes materials and lesson. The County Line Polo Club is the setting. Get ready for some kickin’ paintings.
Relive the ‘60s
The LBJ Museum in San Marcos is offering another ‘60s night on Friday, Aug. 3, full of rockin’ music, and displays of album covers, literature, movie posters and celebrities from the time. The museum’s conference room will be turned into an old-fashioned coffee house and music will be provided by Jesse Sublett, The Ash Family and Dennis Jay.
