Reb Student Council helps troops
The student council at Hays High School is seeking donations of items for U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan in its “May No Soldier Go Unloved” campaign. The drive’s deadline is this Friday, so cash donations may be best at this point, but specific items being sought are beef jerky, trail mix, wet wipes, individually-packaged drink mixes, foot/body powder and, interestingly, ink pens (which troops give to children). Two local soldiers, Aaron King and Travis Brown, have been identified to receive items and the council is seeking the names of others in those war zones from our area. For more information or to make a donation, contact sponsor David Bowe at [email protected].
