Kyle staffers will get to work this weekend stuffing 30,000 plastic eggs with candy in preparation for the popular Easter Egg-stravaganza set for next Wednesday, March 31 in Gregg-Clarke Park.
Last year, nearly 3,000 kids and 2,000 adults turned out to the festival, which also features games, inflatable activities, food vendors, train rides and pictures with the Easter Bunny.
This year, the city is trying to go green and save some green at the same time by reusing the plastic Easter eggs.
“When the kids find their eggs they can open them up, take the candy out and put the eggs back in recycle bins,” said Kyle Parks Director Kerry Urbanowicz.
The city is also accepting donations of plastic eggs at City Hall through Monday.
The event runs from 5-7 p.m., with eggs hunts scheduled by age between 6-6:45 p.m. Parking is available at Wallace Middle School next to the park.
Egg-stravaganza Egg Hunt times:
6:00 p.m. for 0-3 yrs
6:15 p.m. for 4-6 yrs
6:30 p.m. for 7-9 yrs
6:45 p.m. for 10-14 yrs
