Brought to you by the letter ‘L’

by RAY HERNANDEZ
Kyle Chamber of Commerce

The aroma of fresh kettle corn and barbeque still lingers in the air and children are still just a bit sticky from pink puffs of cotton candy. Yes, another Kyle Fair and Music Festival is now complete.

This annual event is the largest celebration held in Kyle, celebrating the founding of this great place we call home.

We have many people to thank and we would like to extend our gratitude to the City of Kyle’s Parks and Recreation Department, our mayor and city council, the Economic Development and Tourism committee, the Kyle Chamber’s Tourism committee, Kyle PD, vendors, musicians, volunteers, area hotels and all the folks who brought this event together.

The third weekend in October is much more than a celebration of the founding of the City of Kyle. It is an opportunity to show that even in these challenging times, Kyle is a place where people still care about each other. We may not always agree about which road needs to be fixed or if we should spend more money on the latest recycling project, but we can find common ground on which to stand.

I always try to keep one thought in mind when people ask me about our town: whether you are starting a business, expanding a business, raising your children, retiring or going to school at an area university, this community is, in fact, a simply charming place.

Did you know that last week was Chamber of Commerce Week in the state of Texas? The City of Kyle and Hays County joined over 600 Chambers of Commerce in Texas to celebrate all the tireless work Chambers of Commerce across the state have been engaged in to make our communities the very best. On behalf of the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau we would like to thank our mayor, city council, our Hays County judge and commissioners for joining us in recognizing the work of our local chambers.

For more information on the award winning Kyle Chamber please visit www.KyleChamber.org or just drop by the Visitor’s Center located in the Train Depot at the intersection of Front St. and Center St.
