All the little ghosts and witches have gone away leaving Main Street a bit quieter. Hundreds of costumed children, along with their parents, walked the streets and visited the 60 businesses and organizations that participated in the Boo-da Halloween event.

Don’t miss “First Thursday” celebrating Native American Month on Thursday, Nov. 4 in downtown Buda starting at 5:30 p.m. The United Native American Indians of Texas will present an educational event that will include a wedding reenactment, learning traditional Native American dances and face painting. Downtown merchants will also be open late for shoppers.

With the loss of Club 21 in Uhland, Bob and Sherry Lowden are opening up their Painted Horse Pavilion at 1750 S. FM 1626 for Saturday night dances. The first dance will be Saturday, Nov. 6 from 9 p.m.to 1 a.m. with People’s Choice providing the music. It is a BYOB and there will be a cover charge.

The students and staff at Elm Grove Elementary are honoring veterans with a special program on Thursday, November 11 at 9:15 a.m. in the school’s cafeteria. They cordially invite all veterans to attend. There will be refreshments following the program.

Be sure to fly your flag on Veteran’s Day and give thanks to our soldiers of yesterday and today. Also as a reminder, Buda City Hall, Buda Public Library, Buda Post Office, as well as banks, will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 11 for Veteran’s Day. No holiday for our area students as they must attend classes.
