In their first year in Class 6A, coach Michael Kane and the Lady Tigers defeated Lake Travis 3-2 to win the regional and went on to win the 6A State Championship, Kane’s second and the school’s third state title.
In a presentation held at the high school campus on Tuesday, Feb. 14, Kane was named the inaugural Texas High School Coaches Association’s Volleyball Coach of the Year for 2022. Dripping Springs finished the season with a 43-13 record to tie for the third-most wins in school history. Kane became the school’s winningest coach in any sport in August of 2022 with his 442nd victory and has compiled more than 470 wins in 13 seasons.
