Dripping Springs announces 6A District 26 All-District Awards

DRIPPING SPRINGS — Dripping Springs’ head softball coach Wade Womack and Johnson’s head coach Katy Snell shared Coach of the Year honors. Seniors Taylor Anderson, shortstop, earned Most Valuable Player and Jordan Cox was named Pitcher of the Year.

Anderson, the MVP, led the team in scoring 59 runs on 79 hits, ending the season with a .541 batting average and was successful in stealing 59 bases in 61 attempts.

Cox, the POY, finished the season in the circle with a 16-5 record, a 1.66 ERA and in 122.1 innings struck out 155 batters.  In the batter’s box, Cox finished with a .343 batting average, drove in a team leading 47 RBI and tied in home runs, 8, with teammate Jai-Lynn-Flores a sophomore.

The Lady Tigers lost to East Central in the Area round of the playoffs, 2-1, in a best of three game series and finished the season 32-9 and 14-3 in district.

Dripping Springs Softball

• All-District First Team: Taylor Anderson, Jordan Cox, Jai-Lynn-Flores, Haiden Anderson, Erika Kanetzky and Linan Scott

• Second Team: Taylor Tressler and Kristen Zeman

• Honorable Mention: Attie Lux and Elianna Amato.

• Academic All-District: Taylor Anderson, Haiden Anderson, Jordan Cox, Kristen Zeman, Megan Joost, Attie Lux, Isabella Martinez, Keira Hector, Linan Scott, Ashtyn Owens, Kate Tressler and Jordyn Hudgeons.

Dripping Springs Baseball

• All-District First Team: Taylor Tracey, a sophomore pitcher; Mason Ashlock, a senior first base; Jack Tyndall, a sophomore outfielder

• Second Team: Theo Howard

• Honorable Mention: Jaxon Conover, Gavin Hoel, Travis Mora, Josh Edwards, Ryland Mahoney and Austin Van Burkleo.
