District announces Taxpayer Tuesday dates

Dripping Springs ISD announced the dates for the community series, Taxpayer Tuesdays, for the 2023-24 school year.

Taxpayer Tuesdays is an opportunity for community members to tour DSISD campuses and learn more about district operations, finances and student programs and success, as well ask district leaders questions. Taxpayers can tour a different campus each month and learn about a topic relevant to fast-growing DSISD.

They are held from 9:30-11 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month until May; there will not be one held in March.

The schedule of remaining Taxpayer Tuesday events is listed below.

DSISD looks for student pledge leaders

The DSISD Board of Trustees invites students to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and Texas Pledge at the beginning of each regular board meeting.

Meetings begin at 6 p.m. and the pledges are first on the agenda. Students may leave following the pledges and moment of silence.

Students will be selected based on their campus location and age in hopes of having broad representation of the district’s student body. Those interested can sign up at bit.ly/45GXvbp.

Community Summit Sessions

Dripping Springs ISD is kicking off strategic planning to chart the course for the district for the next five years. The initiative will be a community-based process that will build on the district’s vision and mission, align district goals, address community needs and promote student outcomes and college and workforce readiness.

The strategic planning process will start with two Community Summit sessions on Wednesday, Sept. 27. The summits will give all stakeholders the opportunity to share their highest hopes and goals for students in the district. Community Summits are open to all DSISD stakeholders, including those who do not have children in the district.

Participants have a choice to attend the sessions between 9:30-11:30 a.m. or 6-8 p.m. at the Center for Learning & Leadership, located at 300 Sportsplex Drive in Dripping Springs.

A community survey will also open on Monday, Sept. 25 to allow stakeholders an additional opportunity to participate.
