WIMBERLEY — The Wimberley Texans varsity football team won 49-13 against Jarrell at their away game on Friday, Oct. 6.
The team racked up 296 yards rushing with Owen O’Neal and Chase Carson each scoring two touchdowns, while quarterback Cody Stoever was 12 of 15 for 180 yards with three touchdowns. Colton Schmidt had eight carries for 62 yards.
Nolan Waida led receivers with three catches for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Wynston Burttschell had two receptions, one of those for a touchdown, and totaled 25 yards. Stoever connected with seven different receivers in the game and had four carries for 59 yards. Kyan McAtee had two carries for 14 yards and had nine passing yards. Defensively, Reid Lenineweber and Payton Peacock each had a sack. Dail Hernandez was good on all seven PATs.
The Texans will host Manor New Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13.
