DRIPPING SPRINGS — The Dripping Springs Tigers football team secured a 52-17 win over the Anderson High School Trojans at its latest home game on Friday night.

The Tigers struck first with a 39-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Reid (No. 2) from quarterback Maddox Maher (No. 5). They added two more touchdowns in the second quarter — one from quarterback Jack Williams (No. 10) on a six-yard run and the other from Kyle Koch (No. 6), who scored on a three-yard reception from Maher.

At halftime, the score was Tigers 21 and Trojans 10. The second half started and the Tigers were still in sync. Running back Jack Tyndall (No. 18) scored on a 12-yard pass and a seven-yard run; Maddox Bloomgren (No. 80) scored on a two-yard reception and the final touchdown was scored by Koch on a 22-yard run.

Statistics and highlights of the game are listed below:

• Maher completed nine of 14 passes for 101 yards and four touchdowns

• Williams completed three of six passes for 38 yards and scored on a six-yard run

• Tyndall had 23 carries for 140 yards and one touchdown

• Running back Jaceton Gotta (No. 46) also contributed to the offense with three carries for 16 yards.

• Koch had seven receptions for 62 yards and one touchdown

• Reid had two receptions for 59 yards and one touchdown

• Bloomgren had two receptions for 28 yards

The Tigers’ defense was consistent again and held the Trojans to 298 yards passing and 15 yards rushing. The defensive stars of the game were Luca Picucci (No. 24) with seven tackles, Theo Howard (No. 14) with four tackles and four assists; and Tomsen Vickery (No. 11) with two tackles and three assists. The Tigers also caused a fumble and an interception.

The Tigers finished in second place in district and will host Cedar Park Vista Ridge High School in a Bi-district playoff game at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 10 at Tiger Stadium.
