WIMBERLEY — The Pearsall Mavericks were no match for the Texans as Wimberley’s record improved to 11-0 with the Bi-district win last Thursday night at Alamo Heights High School Stadium in San Antonio.
Quarterback Cody Stoever rushed for a touchdown, completed five of six passes totaling 151 yards, with three of those passes for touchdowns to Owen Oneal, Noah Birdsong and Ty Thames.
Benji Olmeado rushed for a touchdown while hitting the century mark rushing 100 yards of the team’s total 253 yards. Chase Carson, Colton Schmidt and freshman Josh Belanger each scored rushing touchdowns. Bryson Young recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown and Drew Brasher turned an interception into a pick six with an 83-yard return for a touchdown.
Wimberley (11-0) will meet Orange Grove (7-4) in the Area round of playoffs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17 at Schertz Clemens High School’s Lehnhoff Stadium.
