Luis Gonzales
Kyle resident Luis Gonzales, 21, was arrested for seven counts of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony, on May 26, 2021, after officers discovered visual material of a child engaging in sexual activity. Originally, a jury trial was scheduled, but Gonzales opted to plead guilty — accepting a plea bargain agreement on Nov. 20. The agreement stated that Gonzales would spend 8 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, concurrent with his prior sentence, in front of 483rd District Judge Tanner Neidhardt in Hays County on Nov. 20.
Jarden Coons
Jarden Coons, 19, pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance to a minor- fentanyl on Nov. 20 in front of Judge Neidhart.
On or about Dec. 20, 2022, Coons transferred or sold fentanyl to a minor, leading to the child suffering serious bodily injury after consuming said substance, according to court documents. Coons was also charged with possession of a dangerous drug, manufacture/delivery of controlled substance under 28 grams and possession of a controlled substance, all of which were dismissed under the terms of the plea bargain agreement. The agreement listed the following:
• 10 years TDCJ, 10 years suspended
• $2,000 fine
• $288 restitution
• Psychological/drug/alcohol abuse evaluation
• $60 monthly fee
• $250 community service
Coons also agreed to not seek early termination
Coons will attend his punishment hearing on Jan. 22, 2024.
Meiko Lafanette
Meiko Lafanette, 29, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of retaliation on Nov. 28 in front of Judge Neidhart. According to the indictment, Lafanette threatened Isabella Manuppelli with a black pistol on June 26, 2022. The same day, Lafanette committed theft of property and threatened Kul Karki with the pistol, as well. Lafanette also threatened Clayton Steinle and attempted to harm two officers during his arrest on June 27.
Stetson Nall
On Sept. 8, 2021, Stetson Nall, 27, was indicted for theft between $30,000- $150,000, a third-degree felony, after unlawfully acquiring a 2021 Black Chevrolet 2500 from Colton Erickson. A judgment of conviction opted to lessen the charge to theft between $2,500- $30,000, a state jail felony; he pleaded guilty in front of 453rd District Judge Sherri Tibbe on Nov. 28. The sentence is 5 years of community supervision and 2 years state jail suspended, to be served concurrently. Conditions of probation are as follows:
• $300 fine
• $60 monthly supervision fee
• 120 hours of community service restitution
• Attend and complete the Moral Reconation Therapy Program
• Receive a psychological evaluation
