The Johnson High School football team traveled to the Alamodome in San Antonio on Saturday, Nov. 24, where they took the 23-20 Area win over Los Fresnos High School. With a 20-20 tie heading into the fourth quarter, the Jags were able to hold off the Los Fresnos offense and call upon senior kicker Joe Margiotta for a 32-yard field goal with 1:44 left in the game. The win advances the team to the 6A Division I, Region IV semifinals at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29 against Westlake High School. Pictured, teammates hold up the Area trophy in celebration.
