Dripping Springs softball clinches 7th district championship

The Dripping Springs High School Lady Tigers softball team is currently 10-1 in district after clinching its seventh straight district championship, following an 8-3 win over the Del Valle High School Cardinals on senior night April 11. The Lady Tigers scored their runs on seven hits. Jai-Lynn Flores was two for three at the plate, belted a pair of homeruns and had four RBIs, while Elanna Amato, Lauren Byrnes and Sadie Bradford each had an RBI. Amato had two stolen bases and Kenna Riley had a steal. Bradford (9-3 overall; 81.2 innings and 53 strikeouts) pitched the complete game, giving up eight hits, two walks and had four strikeouts for the win. Tatum Green is 22 for 22 in stolen bases and Emma Phillips is 20 for 20. As a team, the Lady Tigers have 116 stolen bases on 121 attempts. The next district game will be April 17 at Westlake High School.
