On Thursday, Feb. 12, Dripping Springs High School students participated in a planned walkout in protest of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE). At approximately 1:15 p.m., the students met in the parking lot of the school, marched down Sportsplex Drive, through the parking lot of the former Dripping Springs ISD Administration Building and into downtown, before making a loop and ending up back at on school grounds. According to a statement by DSISD on Feb. 5, while it was aware of the reports of a student-planned walkout, “Neither the district nor any DSISD campus administrator is organizing, facilitating or sponsoring these student-organized events.”
