Johnson Jaguars basketball advances to Regional Semifinals

On Monday, Feb. 16, the Johnson High School Jaguars girls basketball team traveled to Southwest Legacy High School in San Antonio to take on Laredo’s United High School Longhorns in the Bi-District round of playoffs and earned the title of Bi-District Champion with a 67-63 win in the program’s first playoff appearance.

The team went on to play and beat La Joya High School 52-49 in the Area round Friday, Feb. 20. At press time Tuesday, Feb. 24, Johnson will take on the Brennan High School Bears at Canyon High School in the Regional Semifinals. The winner will face Bowie High School in the Regional Finals, which will be held Feb. 26-28.
