Mignerey claims State pole vaulting title for Wimberley Texans

Members of the Wimberley High School Texans track and field team traveled to Austin for the University Interscholastic League 4A State Track and Field meet, held Thursday, May 14.

 


Wimberley High School sophomore Corina Joyce runs in the 3200-meter race, where she placed fifth. Later that evening, she placed fifth in the 1600-meter race, as well.

Sophomore Ella Patek flies through the air during the long jump competition, where she placed eighth. Additional competitors include: junior Ellen Watson, who tied for sixth in the high jump, matching her personal best jump of 5’6”; and the quartet of Samantha Hutchinson, Emorie Gahan, Ansley Davis and Trinity Laney, which finished eighth in the 4x200-meter relay and ninth in the 4x400-meter relay — resetting their own school record in the 4x2.
