The Johnson High School Lady Jaguars softball team traveled to College Station last week to face Pearland High School in the State Semifinals. During game one, which was split between Thursday, May 21, and Friday, May 22, due to weather, the Jags won 7-1 over the Oilers.
The community sent the Lady Jags off to College Station in style, escorted by the Buda Police Department, Buda Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services and the Hays County Sheriff's Office, along with appearances by Buda Mayor Lee Urbanovsky, teachers, parents and more.
In game two, held Friday, May 22, Johnson lost 9-1, forcing a game three in the best-of-three series. Despite their best efforts, the Jaguars fell 8-2 in game three Saturday, ending the team's post-season run.
