Hays County hosts 9th Annual Emergency Preparedness Fair

The 9th Annual Hays County Emergency Preparedness Fair, hosted by the Hays County Office of Emergency Services, was held at Kyle's La Verde Park Saturday, Sept. 12. The event brought together resources from around the county and state to provide an informative afternoon for attendees.

The event was full of live music, including the Hays High School Mariachi Los Halcones, pictured. Additional acts included the Barton Middle School and Hays High School jazz bands. Later in the afternoon, The Flowertones took the stage.

A member of Boy Scout Troop 967 teaches an attendee how to create a bandage out of a handkerchief. The troop members also demonstrated how to use the handkerchief to create an ankle brace.

Young attendees had the opportunity to color pictures to make their own pin on buttons. Other children's activities included face painting and various lawn games.
