BUDA — Buda City Council approved a $57.3 million budget for fiscal year (FY) 2027 and adopted a property tax rate of $0.3895 per $100 of taxable value during its Sept. 15 meeting.
At $57.3 million, the FY27 budget is approximately $22.3 million lower than the city’s $79.6 million adopted FY26 budget, a 28.05% decrease. The budget includes the city’s capital improvements plan, updated fee schedule and employee compensation plans. The city has cited changing capital project expenditures as a significant factor in the year over year budget difference, following continued economic pressures.
City documents estimate the tax rate will generate approximately $12.5 million in property tax revenue. The budget documents also called for an 8% water-rate increase and projected 4% sales-tax growth.
