The Johnson High School Jaguars and the Hays High School Hawks football teams faced off in the first Buda Bowl, held at Bob Shelton Stadium Friday, Sept. 25. The teenage titans battled and left it all on the field. At the end of the night, the Hawks were victorious, beating the Jags 41-28. Pre-game festivities honored the namesake of the stadium, the late Bob Shleton, with his family and former players.

Not only was this the first time Hays and Johnson have ever played against each, it was also the district opener.

The Hawks will host the Austin High School Maroons at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2.
