WIMBERLEY — The Wimberley High School Texans football team built a 21-7 first-quarter lead and defeated the Bellville High School Brahmas 49-35 in the homecoming game held Friday, Sept. 25.
Wimberley added 14 points in the second quarter to take a 35-14 lead into halftime. The teams each scored seven points in the third quarter, before Bellville outscored the Texans 14-7 in the fourth.
The win improved Wimberley to 4-0. Bellville fell to 2-3.
Wimberley will travel to Giddings on Friday, Oct. 9, for its District 14-4A Division II opener. Giddings is 3-2 after a 37-14 loss to La Grange High School.
