Hays, Johnson HS suspend girls athletic camps after positive COVID tests

Hays High and Johnson High officials have each temporarily suspended their girls strength and conditioning athletic camps after three total students tested positive for COVID-19.


Two students who attended the Hays High girls strength and conditioning camp received a positive COVID-19 test Saturday, June 27, said Tim Savoy, Hays CISD Chief Communications Officer. Those two students last attended the Hays High girls camp June 18.


One student who attended the Johnson High girls strength and conditioning camp received a positive COVID-19 test Friday, June 26; that student last attended the Johnson High girls camp June 17.


Savoy said Johnson High suspended all of its girls strength and conditioning programs until July 9, while Hays High suspended all of its girls strength camps until July 13. Boys athletic camps at both schools remain unaffected.
