Hays County Commissioners approved an agreement June 30 with Texas State University to allow for locations for the county’s first responders to quarantine because of COVID-19, should that become necessary.
The agenda item, requested by Chief of Staff and Emergency Management Coordinator Alex Villalobos, involves the use of 18 one-bedroom apartments and 12 two-bedroom apartments in Building #6 at Bobcat Village on Aquarena Springs Drive in San Marcos.
The county will pay the university $35 per night per bedroom actually used. Apartments are full furnished with a double bed, desk and desk chair, sofa and side chair, kitchen seating and a full “appliance package” of a stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer.” The agreement does not include the use of dining services, security, housekeeping or maintenance. — nor does it include kitchen accessories like dishware, silverware, pots and pans and cleaning products or pillows, linens, towels or other bedding.
