The Surf SC CTX 2007G ECRL team based out of Kyle, participated as the youngest Hays County area youth soccer players to participate in a National League. The Surf U14 girls team lost 2-1 Saturday in Houston against longtime national powerhouse all girls soccer club, Challenge Soccer. The game was the first for these girls to play with the FIFA 7 rules allowing for only one re-entry into a game as a sub. Playing with only three subs, Surf was able to keep the net empty for most of the game with several key chances that could have leveled the score. Surf bounced back Sunday to hold the 4th best team in Texas, Houston Rise 07G, to a draw with 15 minutes left in the game, ultimately giving up two goals chasing the win.
