Kyle City Council had the first reading of an ordinance calling for a special election on Nov. 3 for voters to declare whether the Kyle Charter should be amended.
The proposed amendments include annexation and deannexation, city boundaries, election polling places, non-binding ballot propositions and the police department. Council member Alex Villalobos said he wants to review some of the items in greater detail before directing them onto the ballot.
“I’d like to look into a little bit more detail the information even though some of the stuff came back, with some of the concerns that we came up with,” Villalobos said. “I think there’s some items I’d like to investigate a little more to see if there’s a pathway to a limited scope.”
City Council will have a second reading of the ordinance on Aug. 17 for further review of the amendments.
