New downtown renovations are coming to the City of Kyle by spring 2021.
Kyle City Council approved a $2.5 million contract with Edmonson Reed for a new building on 104 S. Burleson while making improvements to Mary Kyle Hartson Park.
Without a physical copy in front of them, city council members voted unanimously to approve the contract. Assistant city manager James Earp said the agreement will go forward in final form to be approved by legal counsel.
“The next step is going to be for all of the consultants, along with the stakeholders, to narrowly define what everything will actually be to do the design, to determine what the building is going to look like, the landscaping is going to look like and to bring that into contractual form,” Earp said.
Earp also said city council will then approve the design plans once they are in form of a contract.
The projected start date is November with an expected end date in April of next year.
