Pie eating contests, fireworks and hot air balloons. Labor Day Weekend in Kyle traditionally calls for the Pie in the Sky festival. While COVID-19 continues to make its appearance, festivities to celebrate the holiday will look a little different this year.

Sunrise, around 7 p.m., on Sept. 5 will welcome hot air balloons take flight at surprise locations around town. Later that evening, around 7:45 p.m., a drive-thru glow show will start at 5001 City Lights Drive and continue down Physicians Way. Parking and walk-ups will not be allowed at this event.

There will be photo contests from Sept. 4 to Sept. 11 commemorating Labor Day. Winners, announced at the City Council's Sept. 15 meeting, will receive cash prizes.

All events are open to the public and more information can be found on the city of Kyle website.
