After nearly two years of searching, the Lehman Lobos Friday got themselves back in the win column.
Fourteen second half points was enough for Lehman (1-0) to outlast the New Braunfels Canyon Cougars (0-1) in a wild 24-21 barnburner, giving the Lobo football program its first win since Sept. 14, 2017. It also marked Lehman’s first victory under second year head coach Bruce Salmon.
Lehman jumped out to a 10-7 second quarter lead via a 54-yard touchdown run from running back Kanui Guidry. Canyon surged ahead right before halftime with a 1-yard touchdown run from Micah Willard, giving the Cougars a 14-10 advantage.
