A gas leak near Spring Branch Loop and Jim Miller Dr. has been closed after drawing concern from residents in the area.

The leak occurred early afternoon on Tuesday, July 23rd after a gas line was struck by Cash Construction.

The gas dissipated in the air quickly after the leak began.

Nearby residents were notified by the Kyle Police Department of the leak. The Fire department requested those residents to either shelter in place or leave their properties.

The department did not issue a mandatory evacuation, according to a Kyle spokesperson.

Officers continued to block the intersections to prevent vehicle and foot traffic during the incident. CenterPoint Energy was on the scene to evaluate the leak. There was no loss of customer service because of the leak, according to officials.
