Registered voters can start taking to the polls April 22 as the Early Voting period begins for the May 4 elections.
In Hays CISD, four total candidates are vying for a pair of Board of Trustee seats up for grabs. In the race for the Single Member District 4 seat, incumbent board president Merideth Keller takes on challenger Mark Summers, who is a current Texas State University professor.
Meanwhile, Single Member District 5 incumbent trustee Esperanza Orosco, a former Hays CISD educator, will try to defend her seat when she takes on Frank Juarez, Jr., who is a current Del Valle ISD educator.
In Kyle, four candidates are running in a special election to fill the unexpired term for the District 3 at-large Kyle City Council seat.
Robert Rizo, Cody DeSalvo, Stuart Kirkwood and Michelle Carey have all thrown their hats into the ring for the race. The four vie for the seat vacated by former City Council Member Shane Arabie, who officially submitted his formal resignation in late February.
