Dripping Springs ISD leaders last month unanimously approved to extend the contract of their leader.
The Dripping Springs ISD board of trustees extended Dr. Bruce Gearing’s contract by one year, which will have him as the schools’ leader until 2021-2022. Trustees also approved a two percent salary increase.
Gearing, a native of South Africa, was hired by Dripping Springs ISD in February 2012. Prior to his hire, Gearing served as the superintendent at Marshall ISD and at Mount Pleasant ISD.
“I sincerely appreciate the support of the Board of Trustees in extending my contract,” Gearing said in a statement. “Dripping Springs ISD is a fantastic district and I am grateful to be part of the Tiger Nation. I remain committed to the families of our wonderful community as we help prepare our children for their future.”
