Kyle residents discuss transportation
HAYS COUNTY — Once a small nation of horse and buggies and electric street carts, to a growing population and gas powered vehicles, now to hybrids and electric vehicles, the transportation options have changed over time. Transportation is part of life whether one chooses to walk or drive. For some, the choice is to walk and/or drive an electric or gasoline vehicle. There are some that prefer the traditional way of driving and there are some that are open to the idea of a new way of transportation.

PEC encourages area students to apply for Youth Tour
As a participant in the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s Youth Tour program, Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) will be selecting 10 high school students to attend the trip of a lifetime in Washington, D.C. where they will join more than 1,500 students from electric cooperatives across the country. PEC Youth Tour delegates will visit historical sites, meet their representatives and create lifelong friendships.

Caldwell jury convicts man of manslaughter
On Oct. 11, 2021, Adil Dghoughi, 31, was shot and killed by Terry Turner, now 67, after pulling into his driveway located in Martindale. More than two years later, on Nov. 2, 2023, a jury concluded that Turner was not guilty of murder, but rather he was guilty of manslaughter.
