Historic Rambo Masonic Lodge No. 426 to get upgrades following $21K grant
— With the help of a $21,795 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) and Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC), Rambo Masonic Lodge. No. 426 will soon install new energy-efficient windows in its 141-year-old building within the historic district in downtown Dripping Springs.

DRIPPING SPRINGS — Uganda is a country located in Eastern Africa that is known for its gorgeous landscapes and unique wildlife. Uganda is also a country where one in three girls and one in six boys will endure sexual abuse, according to a national survey published by the Ugandan Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development.

Kyle residents want more grocery options as the city continues to grow
KYLE — H-E-B opened its doors in small town Kyle in 2007 when there was nothing except fields and corn for miles. At the time, this supersized store was more than enough for its population of 24,404. Sixteen years later and a growth of almost 30,000 residents, this is no longer the case.

Dripping Springs to acquire visitors bureau
DRIPPING SPRINGS — Following the retirement of Dripping Springs Visitors Bureau (DSVB) President and CEO Pam Owens earlier this year, the Dripping Springs City Council approved an agreement on June 6 for the transfer of operations of DSVB to the city.

Dripping Springs ISD names District Teachers of the Year
— On May 23, Dripping Springs ISD announced Jennifer McGinnis and Dan Shane as the District Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year, respectively. McGinnis and Shane were chosen following an interview with a selection committee and will now represent DSISD in the Region 13 Teacher of the Year selection process this summer.

Community supports first responder amid wife’s hospitalization
DRIPPING SPRINGS — Members of the community, including those in Hays and Travis counties, are showing their support for David Gibson — a former Dripping Springs resident who now works for Travis County Fire Rescue — after his wife, Coral, was severely injured in a vehicular collision on U.S. 290 between Henly and Dripping Springs in May.
