Staff Report DRIPPING SPRINGS — Dripping Springs ISD students Grant Gillum and Nora Gillum each captured state titles at the Texas History Day State Contest on Saturday, April 20, to advance to the National History Day Contest.

DRIPPING SPRINGS — Dripping Springs ISD parents and students spoke during the public comment period at the April 22 board of trustees meeting about proposed changes that would remove certain language from the district’s nondiscrimination policies.

The city of Dripping Springs kicked off the 35th annual Dripping Springs Founder’s Day celebration with the Grande Parade down Mercer Street on Friday, April 26. The event continued through the weekend with a carnival, vendor booths, live music and a barbecue cook-off. SEE MORE PHOTOS ON PAGE 8.

Staff Report SAN MARCOS — The Hays County Health Department (HCHD) invites residents to the second annual Summer Health Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 at its facility, located at 101 Thermon Drive in San Marcos.

Colten Romeo Thayer, 20, was sentenced to 120 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl in federal court on April 29.

The Dripping Springs Tigers softball team swept the series and are now Bi-District Champions following a home game against the Round Rock High School Dragons on Thursday, April 25.
