HAYS COUNTY – The Hays County Mental Health Court (MHC) has been working to offer an alternative to incarceration for individuals who otherwise may not receive the help they need.

By Brittany Kelley KYLE — Kyle City Council members discussed the possibility of a roundabout or a traffic signal at the intersection of Dacy Lane at Bunton Creek Road at its Jan. 2 meeting.

BUDA — At its Jan. 3 meeting, Buda City Council unanimously approved grant program amendments to the grants funded through hotel occupancy tax.

KYLE — In an effort to provide support and acknowledge the efforts and sacrifice of first responders, the Kyle Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association is hosting a Blue, Red & White Gala on Jan. 13.

SAN MARCOS — The trial for the shooting of a San Marcos Police officer began on Jan. 8 at the Hays County Courthouse.

DRIPPING SPRINGS – A huge photo of the Lady Tigers, who won the Girls 3A State Basketball Championship in 1994, hangs on the wall of Tiger Gym. Sandi Bourland is in the team photo and Rain Collins, a junior on this year’s team, is well aware of at least one of the records Bourland holds, along with three other former players. Bourland (12/11/93), Jisele Green (12/06/08), Julia Graham (12/13/16) and Ally Beck (02/05/19) each hold the record of six 3-point field goals in a single game.

Rebecca Smart, an instructional coach at Dripping Springs High School, was named one of seven Master Teachers for the 2024 White House History Teacher Institute.
