On the heels of financial challenges, the Katherine Anne Porter School, or KAPS, is looking to invite even more students in its doors.

DRIPPING SPRINGS — Following a public hearing during it's June 24 meeting, the Dripping Springs ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved a $123.68 million budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year, with a deficit of $2.89 million.

DRIPPING SPRINGS — The Dripping Springs ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved its hazardous transportation route designations, as well as a course that teaches braille for visually impaired students, during the consent agenda portion of its May 20 meeting.

The Texas Education Agency announced in December 2023 that the constructed response questions in the 2024 STAAR tests will be graded by a hybrid model of human scorers and an automated scoring engine (ASE).

BUDA — Parents across Hays CISD are divided over the district’s new attendance policy, which states that a student could be unenrolled if they are absent without contact for five days. The policy was adopted by the board of trustees on Aug. 28.

— It has been a long year for the Drip’n Honey Bee Club at Dripping Springs High School, but hard work has paid off with the first-ever honey harvest.

— Just like other area school districts, Dripping Springs ISD approved and updated its hazardous transportation route designations on June 26.

— The safety and security of students has been a continuous topic of discussion for school districts across Texas, including Hays CISD.
